I had the privilege to photograph Jason & Rory’s beautiful wedding two weeks ago. The wedding and ceremony were at Wapato Point Cellars along Lake Chelan. It was hot. Jason and Rory were hot, their wedding party was hot, and the sun beating down on us was incredibly hot!

What a fun couple! They were really up for anything and so was their party!

I loved loved loved Rory’s colors! Grey and yellow, oohlala! And those heels are yummy!

Shayne and Dave’s wedding was this Saturday. What a fun couple! They could not stop giggling all through our portrait session.  Love

The ceremony was at St. Joes in Wenatchee. I will never tire of St. Joe weddings. That church is gorgeous! As much as I love the inside of the church, I can never resist being out in the sunshine. We were actually able to take the majority of our pictures outside in the sunshine, despite the predictions of overcast skies, chances of rain and snow! How cute are Shayne’s shoes?? I love them! So worth it.

I have to say that one of my favorite moments was when they were announced at their wedding reception. I’m sure all who know Dave weren’t the least bit surprised they would walk in to Star Wars Imperial March. And then Shayne was immediately rushed by a whole mob of adoring little students. They were all too cute for words as they clung to her dress and followed her around begging her to dance with them to Taylor Swift.

The reception was very emotional as all remembered loved ones who were missed. But then the Rainier cans were raised again in toasts as everyone cracked up during the best man’s hilarious speech about a custody battle over the groom.

    Shayne

Shayne and Dave, you are really a beautiful couple who obviously are head-over-heels for each other. I was so happy to be a part of your day! Congratulations on starting off on your new life together as husband and wife! Indoors

Kevin and I went out the day before Valentines day and found some pretty colorful things. I almost got a picture of Sasha, but she was busy running through the mud and wouldn’t stop to pose for me.

I know it’s not right, but I love it when graffiti is done well. As long as it’s in a place no one cares about! Would it be wrong to print graffiti pictures out and hang them on random things? Like nerdy photography graffiti? Has anyone done this before? I could start a faux graffiti fad!

I love how Sasha’s tongue at least made it into the photo.

I have a wedding this weekend. I’m not going to lie. Pretty stoked. :)

Kevin woke me up with coffee and flowers this morning. He’s good, he’s really good. :) I have been so blessed to be married to this wonderful man. Best almost three years of my life! :) Love you Kevin!

    Sasha didn't get flowers...

Notice my new chair. It smiles :)

    Alex

Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph the most darling little guy! Of course we all know boys always get the long eyelashes and Alex was no exception. In my family we call them “weeper sneepers.” I’m not exactly sure why, but it is fun to say. lol. And check out those baby blues! His parents couldn’t have been more proud of their sweet little man. He was such a happy little guy and so much fun to take pictures of!

You guys are probably wondering where I’ve been. Well it turns out, I’m terrible at keeping a blog updated. In my defense I’ve been busy, really busy. I sat down at my computer to look up to find it’s Thanksgiving already!

Recently I put together an ad for North Cascade Weddings Magazine. The ad was teeny tiny, but I’m excited to have my first full color ad in a wedding magazine. booyeah. I also submitted a few wedding photos from some of the weddings I’ve shot this summer.

Next week is going to be crazy busy and all sorts of fun! The hubby and I have an indoor soccer game earlier in the week, Thanksgiving dinner with my family in Ephrata (which means dancing on my brother’s new Kinect saweeet), I’m helping one of my friends shoot a wedding on Friday in Quincy and Saturday back in Wenatchee for our basketball alumni game. I might not be alive after that! And no, I’m not going easy on Thanksgiving dinner which I may come to regret later.

On a much cheerier note, I have so much to be thankful for this year. :) In addition to the two new nieces and two new nephews I’ve acquired in the last two years, my sister and brother-in-law inform me that I’ll have another little girl or boy next year to spoil and take pictures of. :) yay!

    my boo

I’m also so very very thankful for my sweet hubby Kevin. He’s my nerdy mastermind that takes care of all my coding needs. :)

This winter we’re going to work redoing my ordering site and possibly remaking my website as well. We’ve got some pretty good ideas. I’m so blessed to be married to this guy. best idea. ever.

I’ll post some photos soon of some of the things I’ve been up to. Until then, ciao!

Yay for senior picture season! :D

I’ve really been digging sunset pictures lately. Check out my latest senior victims models. These guys were so great letting me drag them all around town!

Just as Wedding season starts to slow down, here we are, thrown into Senior Picture season! One of these days life will slow down, but not this week or next! This week I shot Ryan’s and Jasmine’s Senior Portraits.

RyanRyan was my first guy session since I started this business of working for myself. He was such a great sport and let me and Kevin drag him all around downtown Wenatchee. I don’t know about him, but I had a great time running around smelly alleys to get the perfect shot. I feel sorry for whoever’s going up against Eastmont’s football team this year! You’re going to want to watch out for this one, Wenatchee!

    Jasmine

Jasmine was my latest session. She was cute pretending like she wasn’t a natural in front of the camera, but you can see otherwise! She laughed at my Oohs and Awws, but I couldn’t help it! We were able to catch the last rays of sun before it went behind the hills. It made for some really stunning pictures!

I took Valeria’s pictures a few days ago. She was really great! I’m always worried about not capturing someone’s natural smile, but you couldn’t stop her from smiling! She and her gal pal are planning on going into the air force after high school. They’ll be quite a distraction to our airmen! Guaranteed they will be the  two hottest chicks flying planes! :)

Hurry Seniors! Only a few days left before Senior Pictures are due! Email me today to schedule your session. ml@margielou.com

    couple

Chelsi and I played college ball together for two years. In that time we both made some long lasting friendships full of fun, laughter and a few tears. We played together, laughed together, danced together and at times, thought we’d all die together during those intense practices!

Four years later we all looked a lot different in our makeup and dresses, holding bouquets rather than basketballs, but not much has changed. These are the friends you can pick up where you left off. We gathered together to witness, sing, dance and celebrate our friend tie the knot with the love of her life.

As for my girl Chelsi, I don’t have to tell you she made a gorgeous bride! See for yourself! I was so honored to be a part of her and Mikki’s day.

The ceremony on the dock, under the waterfall, with all their friends and family gathered around was all too sublime. The sun shining through the mist of the waterfall was truly otherworldly as they tearfully swore to love and cherish each other for eternity. I really couldn’t be happier for them both and I wish them both the best! God bless you two and your new life together!

    love marge.

I love weddings. They are a BLAST to photograph, and Korrin and Eric’s wedding was no exception. Korrin made such a gorgeous bride and poor Eric almost wore his smile out smiling too hard.

Their cabin made a breathtaking backdrop with the Icicle and mountains in the background. Really, it couldn’t have been any more perfect. Leavenworth is pretty all year round, but Saturday it really out did itself!

The wedding ceremony was also picturesque with a side of mountain breeze just enough to make lighting the unity candle impossible. This was definitely one of those weddings where happiness is catching and I can’t stop smiling.
